  1. Your 'Local Department IT Expert'
  2. Department IT Manager
  3. Other Department IT staff
  4. Department Manager (if IT problem is super-critical) (T: 8344 4307)
  5. Faculty IT Help Desk
  6. As a last resort the central University Information Services IT Service Desk

IT Priorities

The order of IT projects and IT requests for assistance are ranked in order of priority and impact upon the Department and its various sections.

Impact Level

  1. An emergency incident which requires immediate attention due to the loss of core IT services which affects the majority of the Department .
  2. Significant loss of functionality of core IT services affecting > 20 staff.
  3. Significant loss of functionality of core IT services affecting < 20 staff
    or minor loss of functionality of core functionality affecting > 20 staff.
  4. Minor loss of functionality of core functionality affecting < 20 staff
    or loss of non-core IT functionality.
  5. Minor fault that has no real tangible impact and can be fixed during the next scheduled IT visit.

Priority Level

  1. Fileserver data integrity
  2. Fileserver hardware
  3. Network
  4. Data backup
  5. Security
  6. Network printers
  7. Desktop - Aproved hardware
  8. Desktop - SOE software
  9. Desktop - Additional supported software
  10. Personal printers
