MNC PhD Candidates Valentina Lorenzetti from Italy and Ian Harding from Canada have both been awarded prestigious PhD Scholarships for International Postgraduate students.

Each year the University of Melbourne offers about 38 new Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (hereafter be referred to as IPRS) to international students wishing to undertake research higher degree studies at the University. IPRSs are funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST).

IPRSs cover full tuition fees for each year of the course and the annual Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

Ms Lorenzetti and Mr Harding have also both been awarded a Melbourne International Research Scholarship (MIRS).

Each year the University offers about 220 new Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRSs), of which about 100 are normally awarded to international students wishing to undertake research higher degree studies at the University. Each faculty has a limited number to award. Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) are funded by the University of Melbourne.

David Griffiths has been appointed the AE Rowden White PhD Candidate.

The AE Rowden White PhD scholarship is a philanthropic scholarship established to develop techniques and software tools for the analysis of MNC's large collection of brain images and clinical data from past and current studies.
