AE Rowden White Foundation: Neuropsychiatric Image Library for Data Mining

This is a joint project of the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Centre (MNC) and the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) at the University of Melbourne, funded by the AE Rowden White Foundation. The goal of the project is to develop techniques and software tools for the analysis of MNC's large collection of brain images and clinical data from past and current studies. The data mining activities will be aimed at discovering relationships between the physical structures of the brain, and the development of psychiatric conditions.

An AE Rowden White PhD Scholarship has been established for this project. The Scholarship awards $20,000 gross p.a. over 3 years. The student will be co-supervised by the MNC and the CSSE. This PhD project has been awarded to David Griffiths who will be supervised by Prof Christos Pantelis from MNC and Prof Rao Kotagiri from CSSE and project commencement began in September 2007.
